Gold is what you use to buy everything you need in both Age of War games. Gold buys your soldiers and turrets as well as health and attack power upgrades in Age of War 2.
In Army of Ages, you aquire gold by killing enemies and by having resource gathering units collect water from three wells and bring it back to your base.
